WS PM-7525

Composition:

WS PM-7525 is a powder mixture of magnesium silicate (Mg3SiO4O10(OH)2), starch and polyimine derivatives of low hardness and water-hating surface to be used as pitch control agent in paper mills, especially when recycled paper is in use.

These two attributes, softness and hydrophobicity are easy to observe when one pinches some talcum powder and then releases it onto the surface of water in a sink.

Function:

Reduce the tackiness of pitch-like materials or stickies like polyvinyl acetat, oils etc so that they have less tendency to form agglomerates or deposit onto papermaking equipment or create spots in the product

Use:

WS PM-7525 should be added as dispersion, the earlier possible, under well agitation, to the problematic stream.

Use an effective retention aid program in order to retain WS PM-7525 (and any attached tacky materials), purging the problem from the wet-end system.

Similar considerations apply to the use of WS PM-7525 in combination with organic detackifiers, like WS PM-7630. In either case, the best place to start in dealing with deposit problems and chemical analysis.

Cautions:

WS PM-7525 is potential source of dust. Consult MSDS information for each detackifier. Lock-out procedures and air quality checks are required when tanks and headboxes must be entered to inspect deposits.
